Just starting to dismantle 1970 Capri for rebuild , after information regarding best fitments for rebuild. Presently have S Type Jag , intention to fit v6 engine and auto gearbox to capri. Any advise , possible issues would be appreciated. Also suspension up grades front end ,rear end, diff upgrades. Present Capri is standard 1600.
Intention is complete strip down and rebuild to showroom condition , so will add photos start to finish.
Again any advise appreciated , best to go with the been there , done that rather than re-invent the wheel.

Theres a guy in the club who has gone the duretec route - of course with the jag v6 - youll have to change the sump (oil pump etc is a hassle, they were all autos - so if you want an auto youll be ok - Lincoln town cars had the uprated duretec to, so u may get some stuff of one of those

Sounds like an interesting project you are planning there and would love to follow the build.
A while back there was a thread on Capri alternative engines being discussed with the Duratec V6 being mentioned which intrigued me also.
The S type Jag did have a manual option here in Aus. and uses the Getrag 221 transmission, It may still be easier sourcing a manual trans (even from the UK) than using an aftermarket ECU to run the S type auto. I could imagine splicing the Jaguar electronics into the Capri would be a complete nightmare with steering angle sensors etc. to be taken into the equation.
Will the S type's unusual front bowl sump clear the Capri cross member?
Is 240bhp enough for the effort? I would like to know what the above Duratec produces on aftermarket injection, it looks like a very tidy understated conversion.

The Rover for the power increase is dubious as to the effort. Theres a RMS motor engineer here near me In Blacktown who can still do 5.0v8 Conversions but in his eyes has much better ones. I'll ask if he's happy to discuss.
