Looking to tow a 2000kg 4wd but can only find trailers with 1200kg rating. Anyone know of someone in South Australia whom hires out trailers with bigger capacity?

Stirling hire have a trailer rated to 1999kg BUT he says the road rules are such that the combined weight of the trailer (750kg) plus car (2000kg) cannot be greater than that of the tow vehicle.  Not sure if the rules are different for electric braked trailers.  I wouldn't have a clue about the road rules myself so am merely passing on what he told me.

Nah Scott I didn't in the end. Logistics of where I live coupled with needing to drop one car off in South and pickup one car out past Mt Barker didn't work for me.
