What have you guys done to get rid of excess heat? I have a pair of escos vents but not sure if they will suit a a mk1 escort. Has anyone had vents punched in?

If it was me i would go more angular than rounded ones. not that you see many MK1'S or Escorts with bonnet vents

I done them yonks ago, cars long gone. I fitted them more forward as on the mk4 Escorts, which meant chopping into the cross beam supports & glued from underneath which got the strength back. The vents you have are Escort Cosworth mk5 style

Don't cut the bonnet up, Have you heat wrapped the exhaust manifold yet.

Are you seeing elevated engine temps? Firewall temps? there may be other options. I've solved all my heating problems without cutting up the bonnet and I'm pushing 460BHP so I know it can be done.
