At the moment its cheap to run my mk2 escort as a daily, I use it to take the kids to school (about 4 mile a day) I'm probably getting about 26mpg, and because its considered a classic (its over 30years old) I don't have to get it tested, my road tax is 48 euro and my classic car insurance is 250 euro.
So how much is it to keep a mk2 in oz? never mind petrol costs.

Whooligan, are you seriously paying that much for fuel? I normally pay less then $1.30 per litre
12months rego is costing me just over $600 per year and comprehensive insurance is $780 per year. Insurance is a problem for me as I'm under 25.
My Escort cost's me less then my 2001 Falcon.

Mobil Synergy 8000 is currently just under $1.40 p/litre at the low point of the fuel cycle in Vic at the moment. Got some the other day. Lucky my daily is diesel.

Craig.

petrol prices over here seem to go up daily, its about 1.39€ per litre at the moment. do you have to do a test to make your car roadworthy? what about declaring modifications?

I only use premium unleaded. Its worth the extra cost and the cars seem to run better on it.....Plus I don't do too many Klms.

I run 98 in the Escort and 91 in the Falcon
