I have a question about black outs,
We’re they also applied to the inner door, were the door trims sit up against. Or did they sit strait up against the same colour as the painted colour of the car.
Can’t seem to find an open door of an original paint work.
In projects don’t see others have done it. Yet this car had it done on its last restoration 30 years ago.
I’ve been told it’s some times done so when the doors are closed,
From inside it hides any visable paint..
I guess I’m just trying to find out was it done originally with Capri 3000gt.
Guess there’s not to many of you out there with origonal paint to answer this question

I haven't a clue about Capri blackouts as to where they stop on the door but going from Escort mk1 , it's about 3/4in from the inside return and is satin black

Download the 1971 brochure from this site,  you can see the inner sills are not black and you can also see it in some of the other pictures with the door closed if you zoom in.  I took the black on mine to just over the radius so that it doesn't look as bad with the door shut, but not all the way as I wanted the colour to contrast the sill badge.

One other question engine block all covers, petrol tank cross member engine parts were they may satin or gloss painted or should they be powder coated

Most likely not in any way as shown on the brochure. Gloss paint but over all this car is looking amazing

It’s amazingly different colour prior to having the clear coat applied.
Still beats having a shabby looking coloured car.
