Hi RJ
Very good photography of a very nice car / The plastic bars def makes it look more modern which it really is being a 1977 model, which we never got. It's what I believe to be the Mk1 Face-Lift as we never saw 4 small headlamps. Our oval headlamp was identical to Hillman Hunter, VH Valiant, LH Holden Torana, etc. I am impressed with these fully sealed Lucas Oval Beams, compared to the rubbish out of India and 3rd world countries where no "engineering" or "optics research" took place; just poor copies as H4 semi s/b.
All our Aussie production was limited to Mk1 from 1969 to 1972; the vast majority being 4 cyl
None of our Mk1 saw your tail lamps as again; update from 1973 on. I do prefer the early ones being smaller and surrounded by chrome to match the Bars, and they didnt seem to fade like so many other models, and being smaller and protected by a chrome frame , they weren't as susceptible to "damage" or chipping.
What sort of Carby was mandated for your area RJ ? Our V6's were Weber 2bbl 40DFAV, except our last 11 "specials" which were D-Port 165 HP with Weber 2bbl 38DGAS, of which I can't speak highly enough. Mine D-port V6 was in solid storage for 10 years, then 15 years with new owner who only drove round the block twice a year till I purchased car 7 years ago and needed ZERO Carby attention; bloody unreal ! (Makes me proud to be Italian!) Good luck with any of that on any modern junk!
Love your wheels and great resto on those badges. Mine are faded badly; must find an artist to do mine
We had an exclusive colour scheme here in Oz, and my Capri colour is called "Wild Plum"
