Hello all, Anna did get in touch with me over the weekend with a shipping quote. $130 USD to the western USA via TNT if I pay via bank transfer, $170 if I pay via Paypal. Apparently, if paid via bank transfer, they can ship directly with TNT. With PayPal, they have to use an intermediate carrier, therefore the higher cost. They are on holiday this week. I'm not sure if she got back to BeeVee re shipping charges to Melbourne. She can have the bumper holes drilled/ undrilled for us. I'm going to take measurements over the weekend. Pricing is undetermined as the number of bumper sets is not set.
Regards,
RJ

Hi RJ, thanks for following up.
Sounds like we are both after identical items, mk1 f+r, no indicators.
I appreciated you measuring the spacings, it would be good if they come drilled.
Any ideas if the rear number plate light is pre cut also?
((mine has 1 cutout, centred)
maybe we give it a week of so, im not sure we have 7 sets.

Hi Guys

haven't heard from Anna yet re prices freighted to Melbourne; I'm sure she wont be long.

We better make sure "holes" in our full width bars are in correct place just for the "anchor points" as she doesn't do over-riders so no point getting those drilled if we can't use them.   Being SS, we can always drill our own over-rider holes if and when we want/find them, if everyone is happy with that ?

Does anyone know how close the shine from Anna's SS comes compared to new chrome ?

Attention Anna, please inform us what grade of Stainless Steel your supplier uses ?

Hi BeeVee,
Yes I am in the United States, California. I have a 1974 Mark 1. In the US they came with bulky polyurethane covered 5 mph "safety bumpers", body colored but bulky. These stainless ones would give it a cleaner look for me.

Dont be shy RJ.....

.....show us pics of your car from all angles whatever model it is !

(hope it's a Capri Mk1, as we never got Mk2 or Mk3 Capri other than a handfull plus private imports)

We've never seen a Mk1 with anything but chromed steel bumpers here in Australia

Lol, thanks for the reminder BeeVee. I forgot about taking pics during process. (I usually take pics when something is done) It is a Mark I. For all I know, you all might like the polyurethane bumper covers. I'll try to take some tomorrow .

Good one RJ

I think the other members will agree we all prefer beautiful original chrome on steel here down-under is Oz!

I'm sure they will soon let us know whether I'm right or wrong!

Looking forward to lots of ur pics inside and out so we can see if there's vast differences in specs USA:AUSTRALIA

We're hoping the SS ones will shine just as much plus more rust-proof

Hello all, here are some photos where you can see front bumper views of a 1974 US Capri.  They were sold throUgh Lincoln/Mercury dealers here.  These bumpers came standard in the US on Mark 1’s from 1974-75.  In 1976-8 we got a Mark2 hatchback Capri. From 1973 and prior, we got straight across full chrome bumpers in several minor variations.  As far as I know, the RS was never sold here directly, but a few managed to import it.  I’ve heard that there is an RS model preserved at the Henry Ford museum in Detroit.  (Please forgive my painters tape, I’m working on the finish while we are all supposed to be sheltering in place).  I’ll attach rear and interior in another post.
Thanks,
RJ

Here is some rear bumper and rear car detail. The fake vent covers came black with a fake plastic chrome overlay.  Since mine started to peel, I painted them all black.  the Side molding is all black, it was a dealer installed option here. The window trim was chrome, which I blacked out about 20 years ago.  Should have kept it chrome, but I scuffed it for better paint adhesion, can’t go back unless I get new trim pieces or have them refinished.
