Gday Guys, In the haynes manual it says the clutch release brg is in constant contact with the clutch fingers. Is this correct as I thought this would cause premature brg wear. rgds Gyro.

I've always had the 2 or 3mm free-play in the cable (as the manual specifies) and a light extension spring pulling the end of the clutch fork backwards to hopefully keep a small gap between bearing and pressure plate fingers. Couldn't see the point of the thrust bearing always being in light contact with the fingers from the weight of the pedal.

Ditto. So far as I am aware the sole purpose of the bearing is to engage/ disengage the clutch.
