Is there a simple way to post pictures in the middle of threads without 3rd party hosting or can you only link pictures as thumbnails at the end. I have a few pics for a new thread but since photobucket held everyone to ransom I have yet to upload them anywhere.....

Easy.
Scroll down from where you are and you will see your avatar.
Directly opposite says "Quick Reply: (Open Full Version)"
Click open Open Full Version
On top right hand side you will see a paperclip icon to attach files
Click that and follow prompts.

I seem to be able to attach files to the end but want to be able to insert them into text.
 
I find that easier when describing build and showing steps chronologically.
 
Is that possible? I cant seem to find it.

Upload the file then move your mouse arrow/ icon over the thumbnail. It should come up with insert, delete, rotate. Hit insert and it should move it to the main body.
