Hi All
Are the rear door mechanism / latches the same between front and back on a Mk2 4dr? If so then I'm assuming any of them will also fit a 2dr? Reason is mine are worn and as the rear doors get less use they may be a better replacement option.

If you are talking about the Mk2 Escorts:

The rear door latches are different because they have the child proof lock mechanism.

Ah. Thanks. Plus the interior lock mechanism portion may differ as it operates from a different angle.

That'd be a funny... fit the rear child proof latch to the pass side front. . Then when the missus tries to escape, she's locked in... but then again it could gain brownie points cause you walk around to open her door like a true gentleman haha..
Hey Paul when your done with the rotisserie , i might offer it up for sale on here , think there would be an eager buyer wanting one for their project

Hi Paul,
I have a DS door latch mechanism from a 2 door you are welcome to, should be the same as a front moredoor one, I presume. Looks like its in good nick, I will have to give it a good clean. I can send a pic if you're interested.
Cheers, Len

Hi Paul,
Couple of pics, seems to be in good nick, not showing signs of wear.  This came from the  door of a rally car so probably didn't see a lot of use. Also have regulator and door limit swing arm as well.

Thx Len. Has anyone had these re-plated?

Yes I have had them replated in the past. They come up like brand new.
