Thanks for the words of encouragement

Initially only thought the outer rear quarter panel was all we needed but once beginning to remove the section we discovered that it was ALL fibreglass - so the inners were needed also [:(!]

I was beginning to think that a decent rear quarter was an urban myth and was considering a repo panel from the UK. Eventually came across a couple of decent sections (not perfect) that are a vast improvement over the originals. Also found a mint heater plenum assembly also which will be put to good use

Work will commence again shortly but in the mean time I'm cleaning up all the bits I've collected along the way ready to be fitted (although I think I have PLENTY of time)! Might visit the powder coaters too

As there has been little progress on the shell I thought I'd spend 8hrs sand blasting ready for powder coating and got the bits back today...........

I have loosely assembled one of the struts although I'm yet to confirm what strut tops I'll be using. The adjustable platform is "home made" from 50mm waterpipe (I think) and welded over the original strut tube. As they came as is I'm quite happy to use them although they're hardly adjustable once under the car. At least I can experiment with varying ride heights before final installation

The headlight assemblies, anti dive and the spring mounts came up a treat.

It's coming along nicely for you. Looks like you've got a good attention to detail which is showing through in your results. Looking forward to seeing more work as it comes! Well done.

Got some 15x6 V4 Simmons for RS so I thought I'd strip, polish and paint in my initial colour scheme for the car. The only other addition is probably the flush mounted centre caps and stainless socket head bolts for the centre [:p]

Not too sure that V4's look their best in black [V] and I don't want gold! The car will be the factory Sno White so I'm having a re-think of what colour might suit. Charcoal (Simon ) is on the short list - anyone else?

Here is a before and after..........

Car will be plain white / black scheme as original with only the RS2000 decals at the most.

Paul,
Charcoal would look great, seen it done before, same wheels on white RS. I want to do mine in a darker silver/charcoal type colour too.

Black and white is too common.

I like the look of the black that you've redone there... but I also think the colour the wheels were would look good with white too. Might require some on-car testing or photoshopping [%]

How do you think Simon got me thinking of charcoal [:p]

LOL[88]

Nope, just sourcing a second set of outer rims to make the rears 15x7 as all four are 15x6 ATM It's down to black or charcoal at this stage.
Just trying to find someone to spray the car (once the rust is repaired) as I'm reluctant to do it in the main garage or outside in full view of the neighbourhood [V] Hopefully I can find a decent painter who wants a little cash on the side to do my car - hopefully save some money over the panel shops.

Anyone fit that description in Adelaide..?
