Maybe it's the color, or that I'm tainted by my wifes 2 door 1300 we used to have that was traded in for $800 many moons ago, but at that price I'd be inclined to build my dream escort, like Matts doing with the Zacspeed.
 
Maybe something like a blue arched 2 door fast and furious style that was modified to stop, go and handle well.
Keep the 20k, and end up with a car you weren't afraid to use it either.
Stuff the investment side, you cant take it with you.:)

Mate of mine sold his twin cam some years ago as he needed money badly. The guy who bought off him has never touched it since, has been sitting under a house for 15 years, his missus wont let him sell it for anything less than $4oK, it would probably take $20K to get it back in working order, bodywork etc.  He sold it for about $9k at the time.

Trim colour should be black on the eBay escort, the shannons one has seen some track work and has the wrong rear 1/4 trims and wrong front seats also, have been watching the green machine with 5 days to go and 56k who knows where it will end up!

Like any purchase which you might consider to be of an investment nature, it pays to do a close inspection and research first. Much like the German RS offered for sale recently for good money. Things aren't always as correct as they are described in advertising. Buyer beware!!!

Now that you mention it you can see the original colour in engine bay and it is missing stickers from engine bay. The grill I don't believe to be correct either as wasn't twin cam grills black on the grill section and chrome around outside.

I wasn't able to see internal photos of the Shannon's one, where they just on the site?

Wrong seats and door trims in the rear on the red one too!!
