no - Is Janman doing something along those lines?
Ive sort of made up my mind that the Essex is not worth playing with too much. The best I have is a 390 holley on the appropriate manifold -  big valve ported heads, hi comp pistons and kent fast road cam - that works well. The holley has been adjusted for the v6 and runs nice. (The triple webers were a headache).
perhaps turbo charging is best?
Im playing with a BOA cosworth and 302 windsor at the mo - they appear to have more to give - $/hp

Hi Guys,
Just in response to the general feedback on triple webers. I have been running triple webers on my Mk 1 for a numbers of months now and have to say that I am a convert. The engine has never ran smother is responsive and just a pleasure to drive. They just need to be initially sorted and it is all good from there. There is a well know Capri expert on the northside of Brisbane that knows these back to front. Just my two cents worth.

The Webers should run well if they are in good condition and if they have been set up well. They will require more maintenance to keep running well, but that's the price you pay. I'd like to see your setup one day Spud, as that's what I'd like to do - it seems a good effort/reward point for the Essex. I'd also agree with the $/output comment. It is relatively straightforward to get 340-420bhp from a road-able 302 these days, in fact you can buy many engines in a box that do it.

I am getting close to finishing the fuel injection route with the 6 coils and no distributor.
 
My triple Webers work Ok but I tend to do more open road driving.

I actually looked at some motorbike carbies I have in the workshop. FCR's are a very good thing and there is a downdraft version, but I just think the initial pulse, or even if used with paired cylinders, would be too much for one.

So after being in hospital now for two weeks with an infection donated to me by the hospital i have too much time on my hands and have been reading lots and buying more. Any way managed to buy one of these Swaymar intake manifolds for the essex V6, that takes a 390 Holley. I will try this as well as now I have standard manifold with 40DFAV carb, twin manifold with two 40DFAV carbs (straight pattern not w pattern oval port) as well as W pattern twin carb Dport with two 38DGAS carbs. I have several cars so all will be different. I have bought a 1 year old 390 holley which I will get set up by an experienced carby expert (as all of them will be). After looking I have also seen this setup as you will see in this picture which looks interesting as well. Now i might also look at this setup and modify the Swaymar intake similar to this and use some bike carbs which, after looking in the UK seem to be all the rage from Pinto motor setups to Duratec and Zetecs. Im just wanting the essex to be able to breathe better (their quite old and have probably smoked to much in their lifetime now). I hope I'm not upsetting any one posting these pics but as always would love feedback good and bad about my ideas.

Better off with a single carb - standard weber or 450 Holley - that triple Holley manifold was made by a guy in Horsham vic - fr circuit racing - also has facility fr mech fuel injection. The double weber one - I think - is an Nz creation - waste of time

What manifold do you have spud for the 390 holley. My double carb Dport is from Muscle In South africa. I won't even attempt a triple carb setup.

I got one from Nz - the Holley I used was modified in the states to suit.

I'm working on the jection set up fr the Essex at the mo

Was it home made or Manufactured, the swaymar seems to have opened up runners and google says runs better than triples up to around 6000 rpm. You know google is always right. Swaymar was bought out and the engineers apparently only work on Astin Martins now.
