I just love multiple carb setups on classic cars. Back in the sixties and seventies this was the holy grail of hot cars.
Today i have a dport with overbore, cam, big valves and ports and heavy springs with roller rockers, higher compression, electronic ignition, electric fuel pump etc. etc.
So why have i still got a fairly standard carburetor? I would love to have some modified induction. But i also love the smoothness, throttle response and mpg of the single twin choke. I probably spend 95% of the time cruising and the rest giving it a rev. So i dont know how adding another carb would benifit me especialy if losing the aforementioned qualities.
Those look like 38dgas and if so would completely over carb the bottom end and midrange and probably still too much on the top end on a standard motor. Especialy as its got four chokes that open together.
I was thinking that a couple of 32/36 from a pinto would possibly work better. These are progressive so two chokes would take care of the bottom and mid and then the four chokes would look after the top end. I dont have direct experience with this tho, sorry. But there are others on this forum that could steer you straight. Cheers,...ron.
