Hi, anybody know and trust someone who would make up and install brand new brake lines into a mk2 escort, the car is a bare metal rebuild so it'll be starting from scratch, located in melbourne, cheers.

any reputable brake shop should be able to do it, price is just the question. If you have the old lines its easy enough to make your own.

I got a mobile guy that was recommended to me to do a customers Mustang. He did trans cooler lines, brake pipes, flexible brake hoses and power steering lines. He did a fantastic job and knows his stuff. I will use him again.

I had them cut to length, and flaired with the fittings attached for about 200 bucks. It took a couple of hours sitting on my milk crate to bend them up.... Don't bother with the bending tool, a set of sockets should provide all the radius's you need, your thumbs will get a work out though Which ever way you go it'll be well worth it for crisp new lines..... Yeah, definately get the flares done properly unless you have a good flare kit. Several of them are double flares and if not done right will leak like a sieve when it comes time to bleed them. Len

Definitely get yourself a decent double flaring tool, and a pipe bender (your hands will thank you). Buy some bending springs off fleabay and go for it. Practice bending on different angles and duplicating bends in the original pipes. You can get new brake line at any brake shop and you`ll get plenty in one roll. The only bits you need to get done by a pro are the flexible lines, by law they need to be ADR compliant.
