Just a question everybody,what are the legal issues regarding replacing the standard Fuel tank with a new alloy tank, I am wanting this setup in my Mk2. Cheers

A fuel tank is to have a external filler ,so yu can extend the pipe to meet the regular side fill or cut a hole in the boot where the filler in the pic is .

Thanks marty,but will go with part A, not the part where i'm cutting the hole.

Doing the same to my car. Filler must be outside the boot OR you can seal the boot, that is no air vents into the cabin from the boot and then get an engineer to sign off on it all legal that way.

I`ve seen it done with the filler neck mated to the side fill cap, and that has been carefully modified so it looks like the standard blanking plate and the boot filler neck in the boot fitted but it was only a dummy
