Having an issue with the custom pedal box throttle on the car. There is what feels like 2cms of foot travel between full throttle and idle. In the photo shows the lowest i can get the cable with out having to modify and cut the pedal to get it closer to the swivel point. Has anyone whos installed a custom pedal box had this issue? Had a search online could not find any other solutions.

Let me guess. Grp 4 fabrication items? I had the exact same problem. You're going to have to cut the accelerator pedal unfortunately

Have a look at the linkage at the carburretor end. There's often several cable & or pivot adjustments available in the linkage.
I had the same problem on one of my escorts and was able to fabricate a bracket to hold the cable outers (twin cable set-up) further away from the pivot point so it pulled in a larger arc (hence more travel). Also gave a side benefit of a lighter pedal doing this.
Note if you keep lowering the cable attachment down the pedal closer to the pivot then the cable will be more inclined to wear & fray where it goes through the firewall.

I agree with SFE. adjust the throttle wheel/pulley/whatever its called for a larger diameter one. will give better pedal feel as well.

Im based near brisbane.  Yea i think it is a Grp 4 fabrications one, i paid some one to install one and also got a few other things done for future upgrades such as a larger gearbox tunnel. I will do some research into getting a bigger throttle wheel for the carb, saves having to cut up the pedal as i plan on upgrading the engine from the pinto to zetec/duratec in the future at some point. Thanks for the replys, this is my first time restoring a car and trying to do as much as i can as possible.

Hi rewwst, I just assumed you were running a twin carb set-up not the single as pictured. My mistake!  If you are looking to do an engine conversion in the future maybe the easiest solution might be to try fitting a standard throttle pedal to your bias pedal box and utilise the standard Ford type linkage arrangement for now. Your pedal box looks like a completely new fabrication rather than a modified Ford box so I'm not too sure if the standard throttle pedal will suit though.
To persist with the gp4 type pedal I think you would have to fabricate a new bracket to hold the outer cable over the cam cover nearer to the carb and make the inner cable pull on an arm pointing upwards and angled towards the LHS and was bolted to the other throttle shaft (not the shaft Ford has used, because it looks like one shaft turns clockwise & the other anticlockwise to open the butterflies together and you want the cable to 'pull'). Bit of mucking around, but playing with lengths, angles of brackets plus a return spring would give you the desired result. Others might see an alternative solution though?
