There's no way I would respray an original Capri if the original paint was still on it. In my opinion it devalues it in a way.  If it was my car I would just give it a good cut and polish - older cars like Capri's look good with a bit of wear and tear. If you put 2 cars side my side at a car show one with original paint and one with a respray I find the one with the original paint far more interesting. Each to there own really but a car can only have an original paint job once - once its gone its gone. When is the last time you saw a Capri with original paint ??

Nice find duke, I hope it drives like you want. Personaly I reckon its horses for courses. The v6 is nice for some roads and the kent or pinto is good on others. All motors have their good and bad points, the v6 is a great motor but spoils the handling a little because of the weight. Regarding the paint job there is another option and that is to paint in acrylic. This allows for a more original look whilst tidying up any woopsies. Also there is less worry of damage in use as the acrylic is easy to touch up. If you have to pay for a paint job then I would steer clear for as long as possible.
