Well I figured that I should post a picture or two of the car up, so you all know that it is real...............!!!!! I think 16" rims on a Capri with 50 series tires looks the part.

That's a nice looking Capri. I love it!
Seeing it with the 16" wheels has put my mind at ease too. I have 16" superlites on my Capri too but I have never seen it at normal ride height - it's still a rolling shell so sits way up like a 4x4. Seeing your car reminds me of the look I was after. Large diameter classic style wheels are ok in my book, they don't look out of place and the tyre choices are way better. .

Steve,
The front of the car is 11/2 inch lower than factory, the rear is unknown to me in terms of ride height, but I figure it must be around the same as the front. You are 100% with the tyre choice thing, this was my major reason to go to 16" rims. I chose a 50 series tire as to go to 45 or even 40 series tires the overall look changes from classic to modern. This way the tires fill the gards in a nice way and still leave plenty gard clearance, plus the overall rolling diamiter is very similar to the original factory fit offerings, so my speedo will be acurate also.

Wow what a beauty looks great with the 16's, how wide are they as im about to trail fit a set of 8 1/2's and 7 1/2's on mine.  I can see another capri in the garage too what's the story with that one.

16 x 7 rims tires are 205, 50 16's. the other shell is a 1969 1600 auto GT, not many of them around. I am going to rebuild it into a car for the son and have him involved with it, as he is only 11 at the moment I have a few years up my sleave lol.
