Hi Guys,
 
I am getting ready to fit the R31 Calipers to the rear of my MK II and was wordering about the Brake Lines.
 
I have the R31 flexible rubber hoses still attached and could just bolt the existing escort Hard lines to them but I don't like the idea of using old & unknown rubber hoses and I am too cheap to spring for Braided lines.
 
Can someone post pics of what they have done and if it's advisable / possible to just use the existing Escort lines and bolt them straight into the caliper if they are long enough.  Or can I just get longer solid lines and use those?
 
Also what size are the solid brake lines in an escort?

I was going to run a solid line to each along the axle (similar to the OEM drum set-up) to a "T" piece where I was going to run a flexible section to the body.
I think running flexible to each calliper is unnecessary and also more costly plus solid lines provide better pedal feel etc.

Hey guys ill take some photos of my setup for you guys. Basically I have braided lines to the axle housing then I have a joiner where it meets the axle the a line to a tee piece and a line running to each caliper. I even used the standard line that goes across the housing! I just changed the ends to new ones as the older ones don't seat as good ( they have a small chamfer where the lines off the skyline isn't. If u Want more info and pics sing out :)

Guys, you can't run a solid line direct to the calipers as they are sliding calipers so need to move in relation to the axle housing.

Use the existing hard line to the passenger side and connect to the Nissan flex line at the wheel and add a tee piece where the body flex line goes to the diff on the right.

On the drivers side make a short hardline (an inch or 2 long) to connect a the female tee piece to the right hand flex line.

Also note im using VR Commodore Calipers which are very similar, but the brake lines work in exactly the same way

 
The rubber cover is only to cover the Tee piece on my rally car.. sorry iphone pics..

yeah they are the same thread and fit no worries at all.. i just put new ones on as my old ones where knocked about and what not.
