Hi all.

Continuing on from my front conversion I'm not looking at the rear. I intend to use R31 rear callipers and Audi 90 245mm solid rotors using a custom steel adaptor. This will bolt on the inside of the housing flange using the original mounting points for the bearing retainer.

These will be manufactured from 8mm steel plate and fastened to the back of the axle housing flange using the original mounting points with longer bolts and nuts. Laser cut shims are also supplied to replace the original drum brake backing plate.

To fit this kit will require the axle flanges to be machined down to 134.80mm to ensure a close fit of the hat over the flange. This wil ensure concentricity.

Current pricing for a pair (L & R) 8mm steel brackets laser cut (incl shims) and zinc plated.

$160 incl postage.

Hi Barney.

Yes, there's a number of other options that all work but i thought I'd enquire non the less. This option is as simple as machining the axle hub to allow the "hat" to slide over, make the mount and it's done. Audi PCD is the same as the Escort.

The Hilux diff is another story regarding rotor fitment and PCD.

Hi Matt.

Just waiting for a price for laser cutting and then some minor machining to achieve the correct offset.

Yes, the rotors are readily available and the machining of the axle flange should be a no problem 5 min job for any machine shop.

I will update this post when I have the final costs.

hi Paul, i've been thinking of doing this conversion, but don't have access to the machinery to perform. Let us know what sort of cost it will be. Very interested.

Paul, the new and improved updated model looks more like a factory fit. I would be interested (depending on price) as I already have a pair of R31 calipers and access to a machine shop.

I'll keep watching your progress. Will they fit under 13" Rims?

Regards,
Craig.

Yes, the original design did not fit as nice as I had originally intended - hence the re-design.

I will need final numbers of orders to get an accurate price as the more I get cut the cheaper they become. I will get a general price for multiple items (5, 10 etc) as an indication.

Hi Craig - as they're a similar size to the OEM 247mm rotor I would expect the lower profile R31 calliper to fit under 13" wheels easily.

Hi lads.
I have grafted a pair of discs (which have been re drilled to suit hilux stud) of the back of a VN SS commodore to a hilux diff. Had to make up some spacers to get the disc to run in the centre of the calliper. the actual calliper mount is the original off the commodore just with all the un nessisary crap cut off and the centre removed so as it would fit over the toyota diff housing.
