well next up im going to make some templates from cardboard for the tunnel, then ill get some sheet metal and bend them up and tack in place, my migs not heaps powerfull so i might get my boiler maker mate to help me out, then hopefully in the next few months when it warms up i can get some paint down in the bay, that would be so cool.

thinking about fitting a bigger intercooler atm, maybe even a custom jobbie because i dont like the restrictions with what ive got.
best bet would be an intercooler that wraps around the radiator with top rear outlet's, would be basically straight lines to the turbo and throttle body.

andy while ive got ya here, what did you do to your inlet manifold? it looks live youve cut and welded a plate on the front to make it shorter (and take a bigger tb). does this effect the flow of the manifold / performance / response (obviously the bigger tb would)?
and is it something i should look at to lessen the bend around my radiator?

if im going to bother with that should i upsize to around an 80mm tb??

i couldnt see it being too hard to modify a larger intercooler to convert from side to rear entry.

hey Shea
yep the throttle body is a 75 mm one after a lot of research i was told buy a lot of people 75 would be the way to go as 80mm was to big .i did chop the manifold to accept the bigger inlet and make more room as the throttle body could not be any thinner . the gains of course are the flow i had 3inch out of the cooler and 3 inch into the manifold i belive this made a good response differance and made the flow path more direct . i would also wrap the outlet pipe from the cooler in heat wrap to keep the cool air in this all helps in the long run . fussy but worth it .as for the cooler my cooler was side in/outthen changed to rear no probs at all i did not weld it but was fine just gave it a good clean . any other questions just ask or call if you didn't get my number let me know and ill pm it . cheers Andy
ps the best mod i did to the car were lightened fly wheel and cams well worth it and the cams were split .

cheers andy.
is that tig welding on the cast aluminium?

also when you said you converted your intercooler, do you mean you got someone else to weld it?

cams are on the list once im "bored" with the power, but i have heard mixed things about lightened flywheels. does it loose revs easily going up hills?

also cant seem to find any 75mm tb's, only 70's, 80's and +++

im planning on keeping all pipework to 2.5" because i will be running a low mount t28 eventually.

thats all i can think of for now.
thanks
Shea

If you are only going a GT28 70mm will be plenty....

what effects does having to big a tb have? mine is massive but will be a long time till I use it and I may change back to a more sensibly sized one if need be. its just what my plenum was made to suit.

80mm will be fine... thats wat ive got...
the standard throttle body is good for 600hp BTW

hey Shea
not to sure on the welding on the manifold and the cooler was welded by a shop did a great job but i had 2and half into it 3inch out . as said previous standed one is good up in the hp , if only going t28 id leave it stock and save ya money , as for the flywheel i heard bad things about the alloy ones in quality and the reve drop off . i believe someone correct me if im wrong on the track the alloy one is ok but in hill climbs etc the drop in revs due to less momentum is a lot . i had a npc one half the weight and still good allround i loved it . how did you go with the rad Shea would you use the same agine? as i might get the same one .
