Hi all. Been following your forum for a while - actually a clubman owner/builder but using a Duratec. Thought the escort/cortina guys looking to use Duratec engines might be interested to know that Carrol Racing here in Adelaide has recntly completed a range of castings for the Duratec: bell housing, water rails, dry sumps - that sort of stuff. He owns and races Escorts so I know they fit a Mk1. The quality is far superior to the UK stuff. Might be worth considering. Cheers

His dry sump is a neat unit he's made it to keep the stock cross-member so he stays within the improved production rules

No unfortunately I don't think he does. Am also loath to put any contact details on a public forum with out his knowledge.

I'll call tomorrow and see if there is a numberor something. May also post some pictures (if I can find them) of his dry sump, etc. -they really are nice and well thought thru.

Alternatively if you know someone in Adelaide who races Escorts then I am reasonably certain they will know him and could help.

Cheers Ian

No difference in the bottom end of either the 2.0 or 2.3. I have the guys e-mail address if you want to contact him.

Just remember 12mm difference in the block which gives a bigger stroke and its extra torque for the 2.3.

Roger runs in the 2L class
He now makes a water rail that fits with no mods, and is in the proccess of making ally cast engine mounts to use the standard X-member.

Jason,

Well aware of Mr Carrol.

Bill H,

once before when we talked about this u led me to believe a 2.3 is completely different and would be a "Challenge" [your words] to get one to fit in a escort !
