points for commitment Zac.    will be sick once you get the built box in.

when i was in japan, the bloke pitted next to us needed to replace his gearbox with no tools at all.   we helped tip his car and off he went.   note, the load bearing exhaust is essential haha

haha scott ive seen similar in the drift scene in aus its scary just to walk past let alone being under there swinging off tight bolts.

progress is really slow at this point, going through the process of running crush tubes and bigger bolts through the rail to re-mount the cross memeber.

also my new wheel lips are finished for the bbs's so the fronts will be getting stripped down again and rebuilt to become the rears and then ill run the rears on the front.

also hoping to have the car over at the SA small ford day in late feb next year so that may take some prep too.

Got the car back together last weekend, went to go for its maiden run and this

car come to a dead stop about 2km from home right on sunset. but the time i had a chance to open the bonnet and have a poke around it was very dark, my handy fluro tube saved the day whilst also attracting every bug in a 5km radius.

So after letting it sit during the hot weather i got back onto looking at it on thursday night and after removing all the interior and dash to access wiring to probe i found that even with the ecu earths disconnected the ecu would still run, telling me i had a short somewhere in the line. more probing... more probing...

then i found my issue

wiring for the crank sensor was on the wrong side of my mount for it and had shaken itself onto the dump pipe, only just enought to short out the shielding for the cables inside.

removed that section of loom, made the repairs where necessary and up it started. winner.

thought id take it for a nice 120km round trip to the beach just to be sure

Busy time of year for the car.

after being somewhat disappointed by the way the bbs's turned out with the first build, i decided to go again.

Made the 8inch rears the fronts and rebuilt the 7's to 8.5 to be put to the rear

8inch with a 175/50r15 tyre, bit more stretch then i thought, may get a wider tyre are i have a little room left.

waited the 8 weeks for new lips to be made then polished, then the horrid part of drilling them myself. always makes me nervous.

mounted 195/45r15 tyres to the 8.5's which i also have more room then i thought i would.
