as long as it runs most weekends your not doing anything wrong just proves you still show interest

in other news, waiting on more fittings and braided hose to turn up.

a little progress on this as of late,

ive stripped all the old fuel system and old battery mount brackets and such, then like the fool i am, i decided it would be a great idea to wirebrush the entire boot area and prime and paint it. Well this led to more work for myself

went from looking like this

to looking like this

does make it look a bunch cleaner getting rid of all the old tar like crap off the floor but was time consuming and will most likely be 90% covered at a later date.

Finally got all my hose and fittings so in theory there is nothing other than my sheer laziness and lack of motivation stopping me from completing the fuel side of things then finding a suitable battery and mounting system and itll be drivable again. sooo.... itll most likely be a while then..

little more progress on this, made up a small alloy bulkhead for where the old fuel filler went through the floor, then fitting 3 -an bulkhead fittings into it so that all the lines can be quickly and neatly removed if needed so.

spent some time making up lines

and then started on making the base plate for the entire fuel system. Have gone from a somewhat usable boot to something that now it utterly useless, oh well.

all in the fun of it. cant wait to be actually driving this again soon.... one day......maybe

week of up and downs,

busted my nut to get the car together for todays RSOC vic Annual Concourse day.
spent friday night polishing and waxing, decided on saturday to take the car for a small trip just to double check all the fuel side of things. and it died.

this little bugger bought the whole shebang to a halt.
the very small inpump screen was full of gunk. im gather 6 years worth of old steel tank + all the little bits of dust from having it sitting around for the last 3 months. cleaned it out and it all ran fine.

tucked it back up in the garage and then today drove it to jells park for the concourse. all went well on the trip there but as i entered the park i noticed the car surging. barely managed to get the car home. think there has been a follow on effect from having the car starved of fuel, as the pre pump is getting plenty of fuel into the swirl pot but the car wont run over 1500rpm or any kind of load, so im presuming its a fuel pressure issue.

RSOC concourse day was today? Damn, had I have known I would have dropped by for a vist. Would've been a brilliant day for a car show.

Boot install looks very neat. Makes me want to redo mine already.

I'm sure you'll sort out the fuelling issue.
Can you PM me the cost of your cage. Thinking of getting one.

Thanks, Shaun

So i finally decided yesterday to actually go have a look at this thing and work out why its not running right.
Seems the fuel pressure reg has failed and the fuel rail is actually getting no pressure. which is a relief in a way due to it being relatively easy to fix, but the old reg is only a year or so old.

Finally got around to getting this going again,

fitted new fuel reg to find only half the problem had been fixed.
also needed 4x new coil packs too as they had been highly stressed on the drive home trying to ignite a very lean fuel mixture

new reg.
