Sorry to hear the bad news.

What caused the valve to bend? Is that witness marks that I can see in the valve relief on the piston?

not sure what has caused the valve to bend, no they are not marks on the pistons just some carbon and stuff that i didn't scrub hard enough to get off, hoping that the valve was just a freak dud that didnt like the excessive heat in the combustion chamber. Time will only tell, hopefully not long till the head gets sorted and i can refit it and ship her back off to the tuners, might have a small play with the 208rwkw first or on the way.
itd be rude not too

That's good to hear. Yeah 208rwkw will definitely be a bit of fun.

thanks guys,

ok lets play a little game, how long do you all think this new box is going to last??

month, year, day, first dyno session ???

let me here your predictions

esqrt
I predict you wont even make it back to the dyno with the box intact!

also we have some good news on the engine front,
no bent valves at all, was just a lash shim that somehow made its way off the end of the valve and got jammed on a angle holding the valve open.

together with my head and cams guy we have come to the conclusion of the valve being blow back open not in time with the cams due to excessive pressure between the valve and the turbo, as the other option which is valve bounce is highly unlikely due to only being revved to 7000 rpm.
as for the excessive pressure, im putting it down to the fact that in the past i know on full boost just as the car hit the revv limiter the car has a tendency to backfire out of the screamer pipe or in some cases blowing flames out of the full length exhaust, due to the extremely rich fuel mixture
 so this may be a happening on the dyno as the fuel mixture is still way off what it should be.

so as of now the current fix is having all the lash adjusters loctited down. if this proves not to be successful a set of uprated exhaust valve springs may be needed.
