I have just fitted and started my my new cossie lump. Looks great but is running very hot

I have removed the thermostat as a precaution and the ally radiator is hot to touch within a couple of minutes.

Any thoughts on what to to check would be appreciated.

I running brand new 45' that need to be rejetted but i worried about driving the car even to the shop for a dyno due to the temp issue.

I think i have worked all the air out of the system. That was one of my inital thoughts. You will notice i have bypassed the heater in eliminate any blockages. I will have another look. When i blow throug hthe heater hose you can see the bubbles in the radiator.

The carbs are stock out of the box matched 45mm 152 webers. They have not been jetted to suit at this stage. Im planning to get a few miles on it prior to getting it dynoed. Im just concren that it going to stuff up prior to getting to the shop at this point.

The timing has beeen set up to the basic factory marks at the moment. Im running a hydraulic cam profile so im not sure i can check the cam timing degrees without pulling the cams and fitting solid lifters. Any ideas on how to get around this ? It seem strange to have to pull the cams out again once fitted and dialled in to refit the hydralic lifters again.

What does the temp gauge read? have you got a thermometer? you need to know the water temp,  the alloy tank is a great conductor and will feel hotter than a std tank. the water temp may well be fine, but you need to know what it is.
