Hi can you remove the pulley on the front of the V6 water pump. Their is a bolt you can't remove without it. I tried using a three jaw puller and ended up bending the pulley. I can make one out of two if it's possible and they are original ford ones.

What you need to do is take out the other 2 bolts, then loosen the half hidden one.  You pull the pump back as you loosen it and the pump will come off.  When you re-fit or swap pumps, the bolt goes in OK but you just cannot get it out with the pump.  Once the pump is out of the car you can press off the pulley if you want, but there are no repair kits anymore-new pumps are down to about $65

I know how to remove the pump that's not the issue. It's removing the pulley only now that I've buggered iton what I only found out today its a perfect condition original pump. All my others are worse but my reasons are in my next post. Cheers.

It's imperative that the pulley is FULLY SUPPORTED on the heavy flat plates of a proper 10-20 tonne Press. A solid steel pin just below Dia of pulley hole is then used to push bearing shaft thru pulley. If no sign of moving, which is unlikely, try a little heat on pulley without enough heat to affect bearing.
I've yet to see a 3 jaw puller succeed in a WP pulley job in my 50 years
Straightening that damaged pulley will be a marathon, but possible with CORRECT equipment & c~ procedure

Thanks Beevee, I will give it a go. I just want to reuse the housing now and swap pulley from a buggered one onto it. It's original ford and perfect inside.

Couldn't believe almost winning similar to Tatts when I walked in to a Repco store and seeing a brand new GMB water pump complete with pulley and rear housing, from Japan,
no less, on the clearance table for one dollar($1) to suit my Essex V6 ! ......"cooda blown mi ova wif a feda"
Natch I asked them to check all other stores AUST wide and got zilch.....got the last one !
For those of you not in the Trade, if you even see a used GMB for sale, grab it, as GMB is the Rolls Royce of spare parts. They do for English small Ford and Aust Ford .........Water pumps, Suspension joints, UNI joints, clutch Thrusts, and some wheel bearings.
Few years ago , long before i owned a Capri, Repco threw out dozens of CAPRI headlamps made in Japan by genuine Koito for peanuts as they were too slow in sales.  They sold like hotcakes on eBay and I wish I saved some, but I sold them all............now they're very expensive even in non genuine.. These same lamps are identical to LH Torana, Hillman Hunter, Valiant VH, and all CAPRI mk1.........think there's another car but forget........yell out if you know! (ESCORT??????)

Funny. Are you saying Capri and Torana headlights are the same. I've never noticed. Always a problem finding spare parts. My pump is original ford and motor hasn't run for a long time and needs running to sort out a few things. So pump for clean outs only on the test bench. Original pump with stuffed pulley will be restored and kept.

Yes, LH Torana has same headlights which is why theyre so expensive.......... Hard to find plus fit 4 different car models at least, makes them HI DEMAND=High price
NOTE................
I'm going to put up a BULLETIN ON OLD ENGINES NOT STARTED FOR EXTENDED TIME
after you reminded me when you said your engine hasn't been started for a long time.........look out for it before you turn over that old engine!
cheers
Bernie
