I bought a Sierra pinto electric dizzy kit from Burton some 15yrs ago for my mk2 and although I've been thru many motors from mild to mad I always kept the same dizzy in there , never miss a beat and reliable cold weather starts every time. Best $120 spent.
I'm not saying it's the best out there , just what I bought at the time and still trust it.
Others like MSD, Crane Fireball, megajolt and AccuSpark have their place as well ..

I used an accuspark module that replaces points. Bought it off ebay for around $50. Noticed considerable difference when I installed it, idle speed jumped 300rpm and I used a larger plug gap once installed.

Used it for about 4 years daily driven and some events but last week i knackered it, cranked the motor without the coil lead attached (i know, silly but i didnt know it would cause any damage at the time). I also ran it through resisted voltage for most of that time which isnt good for them, another "i didnt know" situation.

I use a pertronix flamethrower coil for electronic ignition (on 12V now) and will either buy another accuspark or try the pertronix brand module. Was very happy with it before i broke the module

Hope that helps

Cheers,
Ryan

Is it a standard engine?  I know guys who are running modified magna dizzy's done by Scorcher ignition here in Melb and will be going down this path for the race engine.
