v8GT reference re Capri Headlamps are branded "AUTOPAL" which I know for fact are made in India and are NOT ADR approved and look wrong from a purist point of view. Don't expect to see well with non genuine, or be able to "aim" the beam professionally, as can only be found with "Lucas" original Made in England, as well as "Stanley" and "Koito".
In their favour, however, is that they
do fit, and do have the park lamp provision, and "Autopal" did orig make them as semi as well as fully sealed. What else can you do if nothing else is available, or GENUINE used Lucas is outside of budget ?!
I will mention that "Stanley" & "Koito" brands of Japan, if you can ever find them, are so close to genuine in all aspects, except the "Lucas" logo, it brings tears to my eyes !
Genuine Lucas as well as Stanley and Koito, have not been made in many decades.
I was lucky enough to find a set of each in as-new condition from a clearance sale on the M~ Peninsula recently !
4 headlamps just lying there after thousands of "pickers" went before me ! .....and a VH40 Brake Booster !
I thought I died and went to "spare parts heaven" !!!
When I found my GTV6 Mk1 Delete 4 years ago, she was fitted with "Stanley" Fully Sealed 75W/60W Halogen, as well as Hella 100WDriving lamps, and I am still impressed with the "Stanleys" even when the Hellas aren't on !
These collectable cars are so seldomly used at night, we can expect them to last a very long time electrically speaking. Good reason to invest or make your own COVERS or protectors, lest a stone should find its way straight thru the Headlamp and
ruin your year.
Even a flat piece of perspex held in place with a few light springs will help till better comes along
