Hi guys,

I'm running a tired kent 1600 in my mk2 escort. It will be replaced with a pinto one day soon. If I get the cash Im looking for something putting out around 140hp - not tooo wild.

Right now my radiator is cactus. A bit of stop leak kept me going for about 5 weeks. Not bad :)

Last time I bought a radiator it was for my 4.2l GQ Patrol - I took one off a mob on eBay called 'Nationwideradiatorsautoparts'. No fancy alloy, no extra cores - just a standard size with standard cores, copper/brass unit that slotted straight in. No matter where I am with the patrol or what im doing with it, my patrol always keeps its cool!

Now Im considering getting a standard 2 litre radiator off the same mob for my mk2. 2 core, copper/brass unit - either from the same supplier:

or these guys

they look like identical units, prices pretty much the same.

My question: has anyone here bought this radiator before? Any reports?? If it's up to the job, I will go for it - I am really not keen on spending double that amount for more cores or whatever if this one is up to scratch.

Fingers crossed

Cheers!

Never bought one from those guys but a brand new radiator will do its job as it was intended to. It is only when they get full of crap that they stop working.

If your shell is a 1600 then the 2 litre radiator wont fit without the required modification to the lower support on the front panel. the 2 litre radiator sits further forward at the bottom to accommodate the longer Pinto

Thanks Gdub!

I will probably buy one of those units then.

Can you hook up the 2 ltr radiator to the kent engine with the standard kent radiator hoses? there is still some life in the old girl yet!
