Well, this is definitely an anti-climax after seeing Mark's car [:I]
But here it is in all it's glory....
As people might know I originally bought a 2door RS to rebuild but have since found it is rather bent and (economically) beyond repair - so a re-shell is the order of the day.
So, the following pics show the shell as it stands at the moment showing the rust spots although this is the only rust in the whole car. Seems it decided to concentrate itself to the front
I will update this thread as i go but don't look back here every day expecting progress - she's gonna be a slow one [xx(]
Eventually it'll be a Blood Orange, Zetec RS with a full disc brake upgrade.

You need to drill out all the spot welds around the perimeter and along the top of the plenum. Then you need to lift the grill up so the plenum can be lifted up over the fan cowel.
It's a little time consuming but to do it right - it has to be done.

Don't be silly, my car looked like that at one stage.

18 months ago I did not think my shell would ever look like a car.

Good Luck.

Thanks Fellas.

The engineer has given the all clear for the engine and brake conversion, which gave me a few concerns regarding re-drilling the stud pattern in the replacement rotors
Just need to finish stripping the shell and bung it on the spit to do the floor first to hone my welding skills [:p]

You don't like Blood Orange now "Escort 1600"?

I designed my own and it unintentionally became the pre-production version of Simon's rotisserie
I'm sure Simon can fabricate you a rotisserie if you ask him nicely[:p]
