No pic of the chassis stamp in the UK listing.  Should a 70 bonnet have a rear vent?  There was one in Perth advertised a while go as a matching car but the engine number matched the plate but the body didnt.  Tag and engine from a 72 had been put in a 70 body.  He didn't know and took the ad down after I showed him but scary thing is people were openly telling him that they would take the engine and plate so they could rebirth it.

If it was a swap into a v6 1972 shell the switch would b hard to pick.
v6 into 4 cyl shells - usually half hearted switches - are easy to identify

70's bonnet should have a vent, but maybe it was replaced because of damage? It was supposedly resprayed prior to it's previous ebay listing a number of years ago, so maybe a different bonnet was added then.

GTV6, was that car you're talking about in Perth Peppermint Green?

I'm very interested in this SVO stuff. And a black original Capri would top my list. Also my later tags have an SVO option that unfortunately none of mine are stamped with. Cosworthfreak is this what we are talking about. I remember this Capri being stamped their not anywhere in the paint code etc area. I'm buggered cause I never got to see it.

A lot of ID tags have a separate SVO section that is left blank

It wouldn't worry me if a Capri was a re shell - as long as I struggled to pick it - just good another one well saved. A half baked 4 cyl conversion deserves to be canned.

The matching numbers angle does nothing for me - a nicely presented v6 Capri is enough. I never look at engine numbers at a concourse - seems a bit over the top

i love a car that is original and matching number car  doesnt matter what make or model as i think anything that is matching numbers is worth 10gs or more than one that isnt

No its the red one in Serpentine.  Just relisted and still advertising as matching numbers.  Matching 72 engine but based on chassis number is a 70 body.  Plate says yellow fire but you can see original colour of the body is white.

I spent an hour going over it last time, I reckon it would frighten even you.  Looks a lot better in the photo.  As his ad says the body is gone, not one panel salvageable.  Even the bonnet too far gone.
