hi guys...i think my single ford carb on my 1600 pinto sohc has seen better days. As it is my daily driver and i drive usually around 80-90km/h on a auckland's busy motorway, I'm thinking of either a rebuilt or a new twin choke carb is the way to go.  is the one i'm looking at but it costs a small fortune for me. To get a little more power and easier starting in the morning, should i just rebuild the stock carb or get that kit and get a little bit more power/acceleration?

thanks again guys.

Burton have been great whenever I've dealt with them, but if you're budget conscious they may not be the best choice.
A rebuilt std carb is unlikely to improve power, but may improve cold starting.. is it auto or manual choke?

Mine's an auto choke. and I've just managed to get a used DGAV 32/36 and hopeful with manifold that I hope i can install soon. It was taken out from a 2l pinto and the guy said he has jet it for 1.6l and also changed top and fuel gasket. I'm hoping there isn't any other rebuilt job to do. Will update when I get it running.
