I haven't yet Mark,but am confident that 24.5"x8" will fit easily,I will probably get a 26"x8.5" slick in as well...I will need a test fit for that though,as tyre growth may be an issue.For the street I am looking at 255/40/R17 A032R's so there should be lots more traction to be had[:p][;^)]

That is looking great phil.[:p][:p] I chose to bend the lip up on the new section so under the guard it was nice and neat to stich weld then and just fill it with body deadner, just because it was easier for me.
Sealing up the bottom, rear section and getting the right shape to match the quater Panel i found the hardest bit.[B)]
Top work with yours[:u] as i only got one of mine half finished[:I][B)]

Does this mean that i will be at the next cruise?
I might have a look and see how hard it woud be to do the same thing to my MK2.
I have to respray a fair amount of the body anyway, what does it matter if it is a little more.
Keep up the great work mate and can't wait to see the finished product.

Cheers Guys,I decided to fold the lip down to make sure it looks as original as possible in the boot area.Unfortunately even though they are progressing,the car wont make it on the cruise as the front struts will be headed for NZ and I have to have my new ones made up[8~2] I will be there with bells on though[:p]

Here is the sheet metal freshly cut ready for folding and installation.I will be buying a scotch disc for the ange gringer tomorrow morning to clean the paint from sections to be welded,then its just a matter of welding it all up.A friend who is a panelbeater will be welding it up with the only other work being to push the back of the wheel arch out with a portapower about 5mm to even up the clearance all around the arch

Did you just use cardboard to make a template for the steel?

Yeah,I just took some rough measurements and transfered them to cardboard then fine tuned the template in the car.It took a while to get it right.I then made up templates for the sills and some firewall type infills.I have reshaped the sills at the front of the wheel arch as this is a tight area when fitting bigger wheels and tyres to Mk1 Cortina's As for how long,it might be a month or so...its hard to say exactly,then there's paint work once the rear arches are done[B)][;^)] Not to mention the new Mk2 Zephyr strut conversion which has to be fast tracked now I have sold the Capri Bilstiens. I am getting Heismanns Steering to replicate my capri bilstien set up into the Zephyr struts as they are easier to access than Quadrants for me these days
