Hahahaha!!!
Go for it man!!
Its good to be different, and no doubt a mk1 with a 3.8 with a few tweaks would absolutely hook!

It should fit in nice and snug with out to much modifying to be done. As you get into it thou, to do it properly it will be far harder than you first expect but good luck with it. hope there is enough extra power to make all the work worth while. they are not the best motor wor performance but bits should be cheap to keep it going[%]

The early VN engines are not compatible with the latter V6.
It's the lightest C..Dunnydoor Holden ever made. smoke the beast.

More fun smashing it into the guard rails[:p]than the esky.

Why would you do this to that poor escort? Its a pushrod cast iron lump. Much heavier than a pinto and for about 170hp. Personally I'd rather have my escort powered by a fleet of midgets on unicycles, but thats just me.

IMHO theres loads of better engine choices out there.. Full marks for doing something different, but not my cup of tea.

I know there's much better engines out there. But I got the VN for nothing, and the white Escort's just been sitting on my lawn for the last 6 months. Figure I might as well do something to it.

It's only going to be a dedicated hoon/skid car, so not too worried about making it all neat and whatnot. As long as it fits in and runs, I'm happy.

Plus, I can't wait to see the look on all the "purists" faces when I take it to one of the shows. [}:)]
