I still have the original extractors.
Yes , I have welded up some pinholes using the oxy, most recently this year.
Fingers crossed, they'll last another 47yrs in our dry inland climate.

Not dealing with DOT, went to Pebco instead as closer to home.  They were really good, no complaints about what they found.  I wouldn't expect them to know everything about every car so I don't have an issue with them thinking extractors were non standard.

I took the manuals to them today, no hassle he crossed the requirement for a permit off the list.  Just got a couple of mounts to replace so should be good to go by Thurs.

We decided to do the sump gasket properly which allowed me to get a good pic of the extractors.  My mechanic who worked at Ford dealerships in the 70's reckons there is a good chance that these are original.  I don't know but different collector to the Pacemakers.

One of the things the inspector is going to check is that the position of the collector matches the position of the collector in the parts book so I think I got lucky with this one.

Jeez, these inspectors get my goat. It's a piece of bent tubing - why should they care whether it's factory original or not?

Another genuine hot orange back on the road.  The parts book did the trick and she had her first day out at the All Ford Day show.  They were going to pick me up on the bonnet pins but the parts book showed them as original so they accepted them.  Thanks again everyone.

Thanks, the previous owner put the wrong clear coat on hence the cracks, so a bit of work still needed to get it spot on again but will drive as is for now while I get my white one back up to scratch.  It was a good day, lots of people telling me tales of the Capri they used to own and how they wished they still had it, all up a good response from people for a car that's not perfect........yet.
