The new turbo is making positive pressure at 2300rpm, 12psi by 4000rpm and 27psi by 5000rpm. That 4000-5000 range is quite a ride

I can imagine it would be one hell of a ride for that 1000rpm. That would be one massive power climb[:p]

It looks like the limitations of this tired old engine have been reached[:p] We made a consistent 260rwkw with alot more grunt through the mid range. The reason for the improved feel on the road was also discovered...boost is in 700rpm earlier,27psi at 4600rpm We fed the old girl 30psi with no gain in peak power...just bringing the power in around 1000-1500rpm earlier. This is a clue as to what needs to happen next in regards to developement

Hi Kizza,it certainly isnt a disappointing result by any means The turbo has a lot left in it so we'll see what sort of gains the rebuild brings[:p]

Nice one Phil, I didn't know that it was safe to run that sort of boost on pump fuel ? I suppose if the tune is good it is safe ?

The design of the combustion chamber plays a big part in what boost you can run with out detonation. Cosworth certainly got it right with these engines

Thats right!!!! cosworth engines are the business! i was running 36psi on pump fuel with a t4 turbo..!!!

remember its not a SR20 [:x)]

Phil. so with the "bigger" turbo you have less lag??

i reckon the gt30 is probably the best pick of the latest turbos for an engine thats been modded the old school way or is standard.

260kws at the wheels awesome! hopefully with a rebuild you will make the 300kw!

i hope my gt30r makes 450bhp to the wheels!! if im lucky!
