Yeah, the skin side isn't that bad. It's the frame side I would've been worried about if I wasn't doing the one piece thing. I'm going to remake the whole bottom section of the frame to allow for the locking mechanism.

It'll have a recessed brake light in the middle of the top, and I'm considering a recessed number plate section. I know that sort of takes away from the smooth shaved look, but like I said, ideas evolve

Lil' help people? I'm planning to have the door in primer by Friday, but I haven't seen a flush fitting taillight or a reccesed number plate I like. Any ideas?

Wasn't able to get door frame knocked up in time during Friday lunch, so hoping at Wednesday. I went to the local Autopro on Thursday and leafed through some lighting cataloges, placed an order and took some measurements. While there I got some 100w globes for the Sundowner but thats off topic. Logged onto RTA website Thursday night, choose a plate style (Vivid Blue) and took more measurements. I'm still working out the lock and striker mechanism....thinking of going with a fuel flap popper set up, to try and maintain shaved look. Critism welcome. My camera doesn't like the cable I keep shoving up its ass, so no pics tonight

So, wrapping up, status is as follows:

Taillight piece made up, and fully welded in
Numberplate section made up, and fully welded in
Inside frame halfway made up
Descion between conventinal lock and fuel flap popper yet to be made

Also, anyone know where I can get that Mcleod Ford style rear spoiler?

I know that Pic is a falcon, but I've see a similar one on an Escort van.

I'm on holiday at the end of this week, so it's time to get stuck into the Project. I've got a bit of surplus cash, so I'm considering getting and chopping a MK2 four door, and change the appearance of the whole van. Could be pretty cool. Rough pic attached.

Also, Can anyone enlighten me on legality of bonnet modification in NSW?c

Hey Brad,

I'll be in Armidale this weekend and might be able to pop down the mountain if that's alright with you.

I'm defiantly going to run with the MK2 conversion, now deciding between Zakspeed race kit, or RS2000 X-pack kit.

Decisions, Decisions.

I'm gunna have a go at cranking the 1300 over this weekend. Only so I can put it eBay appropriately. Pending funds to get a sedan to chop up, I'm moving onto cargo area and fuel tank. Don't think I'll do anything fancy with the floor, as it'll most likely be carpeted, but I'll have a play with the wheel arches, side panels, and see what I'll do with the fuel tank. Just to clarify... should I tub as well as arch?
