Managed to break my key! Guess it was over 40 yrs old... And I can't find the spares. Are mk1 and mk2 ignition barrels the same? Have found another key which works with some wiggling but will need to replace the barrel or key soon.

Has anyone got a barrel and key?
Are mk2 escort the same?
Are T cortinas the same?

Thanks, shaun

Ring mobile locksmith . check first have the blanks as that is the hard bit. I ended up going to locksmiths in one of those booths at the shops to get my blanks and the 4th guy had them. Lucky for me the guy had previously own lots of small fords and knew as soon as saw the key. But they are still available but they just have to be ordered in. You are best get a locksmith to cut a key from the barrel as most keys are that worn you will be getting a duplicate of a worn key . good luck
