If its the car I think it is, the rust in the firewall is probably letting the cold in as well :-)

Well i made it home!.
 
Thanks to all who have replied. Indeed that was my heater core in the picture above. Once i figured out it had a leak, i thought id have a bit of fun with it :).
 
You're certainly not wrong about the canberra cold snapping you back to reality. My goodness me it was cold. Coming in from the north, and arriving in CBR at around 4am........my feet were quite literally numb.!! (well, my toes at least).
 
OssBoss, which car are you thinking about?. I havent gotten right in there, but im pretty sure (apart from the rust in the heater plenum), that the firewall is pretty much OK.........
 
Its now safe and sound in my garage. Tomorrow will be a day of inspection, and starting to fix up little bits and pieces! :)

cheers matt!. I was hoping to go pick up some new carpet for it tomorrow (know auto carpets seem to be OK???)......but it appears they arent open tomorrow.
 
Glenn - thermal underwear would have been a good option!.......i wrongly assumed the hear would be working! :)
