Tramp bars just limit the magnitude of the oscellation cycle - do not actually eliminate tramp.
Danny M and co on this site (and over at
www.rsmotorsport.com.au) variously recommend a reverse eye with rebould leaf spring pack coupled with Bilstiens for elimination of axle tramp and maintaining full suspension functionallity in fast road/track day/motorsport use.
Personally I am still running an old school setup I first devised back in 1992 - one extra full length leaf in a std spring pack (under main leaf, extends just past centre of eye at both ends), polybushed stock rear sway bar, Gemini wagon Monroe GT gas shocks with lower crush bush reamed to suit and various 205/60R13 street tyres on 7" rims over the last 20 years (Bridgestone Steel Belted 60s/Bridgestone Eager SF340s/Yokohama Y352s/Road Hugger GT Radials/Mastercraft Avenger GT/etc). Have not had any axle wind up under accel or decel with this set up for street/track day use, but then I am not overly heavy on the pedal these days as she tend to shred the stock diff centres at an alarming rate when pushed.
Cheers
James
PS - running modified pinto - would be lucky to break the 140hp barrier in current tune
