Some photo updates of the partial stripdown. Progress is slowly getting there. Just getting all the mechanicals working and upgrading the drive train with a close ratio box and 3.9 diff to start with before making it pretty. Will be a track and hill climb car so it wont be that pretty[88]. Just have to get rid of all the grass and spiders[:u]
Last photo is of Danny. (Partner in crime) Just look for the crappy corti and two deralics driving on the track when the time comes

Looks excellent longboy. And can those wheels get any brighter?! Are you going to paint it, or just leave it the rat look? I reckon stick a clearcoat over it and hit the track like that.

Yeah thought about the rat rod look. Just have to convince the scrutineers that its not serious rust. Its in our intensions to do it as cheaply as possible and a can of clear coat fits the bill[88]
Think the wheels will stand out pretty brightly. We wont be going fast enough to turn the disc rotors red but ya will see the wheels flash by[:o)][88][:u]

Sure has. Top side is still salvageable. Real shame the bottom side is so bad. I went to throw the real leaf spring shackle in the car after taking off the rear leafs and it went straight through the floor[88]

Latest pics. Progressive rate custom lowered front springs, gas filled front shocks with adjustable tops, locked diff(no welding involved), all new nolathane bushes throughout, all brake assemblies renewed, larger capri front calipers. Spax adjustable rear shocks with uprated reverse eye leafs lowered about 3+ inches.

Engine now has a set of BDA forged pistons and will begin its transformation shortly. Body is about to be chucked on the rotiseree for a good overall wash, quick sand and respray. May even keep the rough look with some clear coat and add the strips to give it that period look
