Not a V6 but pretty happy with my little Pinto today, just got the tune right and I've been testing in the 35 degree heat, high gears, low revs and speed around the suburb for about an hour now trying out the cooling system. The gauge won't budge over 1/3. Ready for the open road I think.
Cheers Drew

Big test for the driver also on a day like today

I've started looking into after market air cond systems for mine, just got to think more about pulley arrangement and how to hide and integrate the under dash unit.  Will be nice if I can make it happen.  First step was to get a viscous fan from UK to try and take some load off the motor.

We had 49.5 degrees last year here in Sydney. I don’t know that any of these cars can deal with it. Let alone removing your fan for extra horsepower. If I told a passenger where going to sit on the side of the road for half an hour while the motor cools cause I took the fan off without the motor running and no air con I would expect them to laugh at me and not in a nice way.

viscous fan, standard on later capris, which slips at high speed making it more efficient, not no fan.

A few people on here say they use no fan at all. Their is a story about the Perana where Basil Green leant down noticing the fan and setup was blowing the air in the wrong direction and had to redesign it. As has been stated that a 14 inch will blow so much more than a 12 inch when it comes to air flow. Also the blade design and number of blades makes even more difference so spending money on a good quality thermo fan is essential.
