Just letting everyone know who has, or wanted to meet other fellow car lovers any SAT evening, that BP Eastlink near Scoresby is considered too dangerous for 700+ cars to effectively evacuate should an incendiary of any kind, or emergency occur.
BP Baxter on Peninsula Link (south-bound) seems to be a much better option as the huge car park (larger capacity than Scoresby) poses very little danger in respect to Fuel Bowsers and interference with show cars being anywhere near Fuel Clients since both are separated by over 60 metres of Restaurants and Shops and Drive-Throughs !
Traffic at any time in Baxter is around 25% that of Scoresby at the same time, making the actual Baxter Freeway a pleasure to merge into, as well as off to the BP Baxter.
Get your beloved Ford out and feel free to come and join the many other Ford Capris, Cortinas, Escorts, Prefects and Zephyrs..................all Makes and Models welcome!

UPDATE.......seems most are turning up at 5 PM , maybe due to lack of light in winter after 5.30 PM !
 
With summer almost upon us, and sun setting later and later, I dare say 5PM will be "de rigeur"
 
Great turn-out of all manner of small Fords inc Capri, Escort, Cortina, Prefect, Anglia and even the odd Zephyr Mk3 among the big Fords

Just hope the "hoons" who insist on entering the freeway as they leave at "breakneck" speeds with tachos in the red in every gear, don't spoil it for the rest of us who show restraint.
The freeway and all public roads MUST be used within the Regulations for everyone's sake.
Racetracks were built for just that; racing and speeding and dangerous driving in a controlled venue backed by help should anything go wrong.

MOST ARE GETTING to "BP" Baxter SOUTHBOUND at 5 PM and earlier ........ not 6 pm as previous advised

2 weeks ago I was blown away at the DOZENS of Escorts and Cortinas and Prefect and Anglias that turned up !
