Time for an update again.. New valves turned up about 3 weeks ago, car has been running for the last 2 weeks

New valves went in fine, engine seems the same as it was. Now looking into a different way to mount the throttle bodies as the silicon pipe isn't a great design.. Hopefully will get it done this weekend..

cheers

Have you got your megasquirt running both fuel and ignition or just fuel?
is it a simple unit to set-up and what does it require for running fuel and ignition?

Both fuel and ignition using EDIS.

Its fairly simple to set up for EDIS, you can use the standard coilpack, ignition module and crank sensor. EDIS is a very reliable system (I actually ran it on my pinto too).

You can also drive the coils direct if you want, but I like EDIS.

The car it is running really well.. I rebuilt the throttle bodies to make them more rigid. The previous linkage was dodgey as the bodies didn't sit lined up. Took a bit of machining but they are now mounted accurately together. I'll get a pic to show what I mean. Its much better now, they were far easier to sinc and she now idles at about 650 rpm. I also put the stock cam belt cover back on.

Has way more power than the pinto and more torque. Spins the wheels easy in the dry. And the induction noise coupled with the 2.5" straight through system makes me do this It really is magic.

Mk2_2dr_2L pics will follow soon!!

Cheers

Next on the list is tidy the wiring and sort some trumpets/airfilters. Plus get a radiator overflow tank (not a coke bottle) and a oil catch can. Also have some adjustable strut tops ready to go on, and hopefully new springs and brakes will come soon..
