Hey all!
Just chasing any help I can get with the front profile of the wings (the arch around the side of the headlights).
 
Of course the Ex-pressed panels were different and not well made! We had this issue with all the panels they shipped me. So now the profile on one side is different to the other.
 
Is the profile/thickness the same all around and matching the same line as the bonnet? The sides to the indicator look thicker? or is that just an illusion because of the inward curve of the actual wing?

I'm not sure if these pics help or not, but this is how mine is.
I think you have done pretty ok, certainly your gaps are better than mine when you take a look.
The drivers guard was replaced with another Ford genuine guard about 30 years ago (due to rust), and it hasnt been hit in the front  before.
Panels gaps werent much of a thing 50 years ago??
 

 

Thanks Dean, it was actually your pic that make me think of mine.
Its the "hockey stick" shaped bit that I need to get right. The metal depth, not so much the gap.
 
Going by your pic it seems to be thinner at the bottom at then thickens out to match the bonnet profile. Which is how mine looked before the panel beater got started.

That would be great mate! Its the last bit that needs "manipulating" before it heads to the painter.

 
 
sorry, not sure how good these are.
we had a decent storm come through yesterday afternoon, water everywhere and a lake in the shed.
Just make it look symmetric, and fair to the eye.
(And do a front brake upgrade so it stays that way :))
