Whilst we are on the price of escorts I have a bit of a curly one.
Long story.
Some time ago, some may remember I bought, and subsequently sold (after much drama) a MK2 2lt auto coupe.
I had the car preliminary sold twice, once on here once, once on Facebook, of which both buyers failed to actually turn up on the day with cash in hand. (I even took a day off work for one!)
After that I put it on eBay and sold it for 2.5 times what I was prepared to let it go for previously. The guy who bought it had came and inspected it twice.
Got a phone call the next morning after his mechanic realised the car was actually a front cut. It's actually easy to see when you look for it, however, it hadn't even crossed my mind at the time (or his)to look for it.
I had bought the car from an elderly gentleman who had purchased the car from a car yard in the early 90's. Car had been Vic registered since then and I bought it with reg. (Obviously now lapsed)
Anyway... In complete good faith, I offered a full refund to the buyer, so he dropped off the car and the it has sat since in the corner of the shed.
I have ( not fitted and may be sold as a package???) Multiple spares including alloy tarmac arch + spoiler kit, 8 point cams spec weld in rally cage, 4 link kit, rn25 hilux diff with multiple ratios, 2lt blocks, heads etc,....
I had planned on building a rally car to replace my 4door motorhhana car, however I could do with the extra funds to pour into the mk1 turbo.
Any ideas on what the car alone with fetch given its uniqueness... Most likely track/race only?
Or do I put it on eBay again with a reserve and see what it makes.
I'm a bit jaded after the stuffing around I got last time...
thanks Shaun
