To be honest I enjoy the speed trials a great deal more.
A free event that has more community support across all of Geelong.
 
I know the AFD is a fundraiser, but I think it wandered from its roots many years ago as well.
Another time I did just rock u with the car, they told me where to park. I wasnt interested in judging, and we were in the relative outback, which was fine and they chucked the Capris in with escorts.. I just came to see a few cars. Then when I went to leave they cracked it and said you needed to stay until stumps. Mate, I'd be really in strife with the boss if I had to stay until 4pm or whatever it was. Safety aside, it seemed to0 overcorporate back then even, charge the cars and the spectators by all means, but remember without people ok with showing there cars, there might not be much of a show.
