LSD still sits in the shed, misses belly is growing larger and im wondering how ill fit a baby seat in the rear of this?

Im tempted to get it trimmed to match the car

LSD is off getting built up in a spare pigs head so should hopefully be a quick swap out when its ready, after seeing pauls success with KBS rust seal thought i would try that. Will change to the 3.9 and keep my 3.5 all complete ready to swap back in if i need.

I had a spare dash recovered by dash doctor at the end of the year, it came up real well and im happy with it. I dont have any good photos as yet, im dreading the day it cracks, seems they all do.

Ive also ordered a retro stereo, hoping for it to look more oem inside but this will have bluetooth etc so save me plugging in my phone and have cables running throughout the cabin.

Still havent relocated the battery, every auto elec i speak to tends to think a small battery in the boot will not really be suitable and suggest CCA are the all important factor. I was advised to look at the optima range and nothing compares to the weight of the full river. If i replaced it with the optima i would just be moving 15kg from the front to the back. If replaced with the full river id be losing 5kg also, which i like the idea of.

As much as i can get, so if you look at the optima range the 35 is a standard battery size and has 720CCA and weighs 14ish kg. I guess using your HC40 you get 500CCA but a much smaller battery, weight is the same at 14kg. Looking into the HC28 you get 410CCA and 10kg. Ideally im after my cake and eating it to, weight saving but still the benefits of it spinning the motor over without trouble.

I’m mounting in the boot mirroring where the spare is located. I guess I’m not that fussed about weight etc but I need a fully sealed battery. The HC40 is similar size and performance to the Odyssey PC950 but better value. The odyssey is lighter so I guess warrants the extra $$. I would have thought 500A would be ample for a 4cyl provided the supply cabling is sufficient. I’m also EFI so I think that places less stress on the starting system as it does not crank excessively before firing.

Now thinking about it I might look around at other options which might be better bang for buck. As long as my battery is fully sealed And starts the car I don’t really care. Mine is a street car and weight really isn’t a primary concern.

Thanks for the reply paul. I looked at the odyssey one you mentioned, its great but the pricing on the full rivers is much more bearable. I shouldnt be so weight focused and even moving it from in front of the axle to the boot would be beneficial. Once again just wanting my cake and eating it to. I could just bite the bullet and try it with the HC28
